Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) is the highest license/rating that can be achieved by a professional pilot. The ATPL is mandatory to become a Commander in an Airline. Most Airlines prefer hiring pilots with previous experience and who are closer to achieving the unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL). Amongst other minimum requirements the most important factor for the pilot is to complete a flying experience of 1500 hours before applying for ATPL.
