INTEGRATED ATPL - Canada

Integrated ATPL - CANADA

Ready to take-off

INTEGRATED AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT LICENSE

HATS (India) and AEROCADET (USA) have worked out one of the quickest and most affordable cadet pilot programs specially designed for Indian candidates. The program is also known as Full Professional Airline Pilot Program (FPAP).

This is also the first program to be introduced in India which provides an opportunity to not only achieve a dual Commercial Pilot License (CPL) but also an Airline Transport Pilot License(ATPL) from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The total duration of the ground training, flight training, and the initial flight instructor internship is approximately 3 years.

All stages of flight training are conducted in Canada to a very high standard by an accredited flight academy. After the completion of the flight training phase, all students will be offered an opportunity to apply for the internship phase to work as flight instructors, which, in turn, will allow them to build additional flight time.

After the candidate achieves 1500 hours of total flight time, the candidate will be able to obtain their Transport Canada (ICAO-Canada) ATPL and apply for either airline pilot or ferry pilot internships. At the last stage, graduates will be assisted in airline employment placement by our company with airlines such as Air India, Fly Dubai, Emirates, Qatar, Cathay Pacific, Air Asia, Lion Air, Singapore Airlines, Air China, Chinese Airlines, Air Hong Kong, Malaysian Airlines, Jet Star, Tiger Air and many more.

36 Months for 2000 hrs.

Dual ATPL from India & Canada.

  • Once candidates successfully qualify the entrance exam, they will be interviewed either via Video call or at one of our centers in Mumbai, Hyderabad, or Delhi.
  • After the interview recommended candidates will be required to complete the enrollment application and provide necessary documents for initial consideration. Once all the requirements are satisfactorily met, the candidate will be provided with the training Agreement for acceptance and allocated a date, to begin with, ground classes.
STAGE 2 - DGCA GROUND SCHOOL
  • Candidates are required to appear for and clear DGCA theoretical CPL exams before proceeding with flight training.
  • To ensure that candidates have a varied spectrum of domestic and international airline employment opportunities, as well as to lay the foundation for a swift Canadian visa approval process, the candidates are required to appear and clear DGCA (ICAO India) theoretical CPL exams before proceeding for flight training.
  • Classes will be conducted by Hercules Aviation Training School (HATS). The ground classes comprise of approximately 350 hours of sessions that include theoretical training and mock tests. The same classes will suffice for appearing for DGCA ATPL exams. However, additional assistance will be provided to enrolled candidates, after completion of flying training in Canada.
STAGE 3 - COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENSE
  • Upon clearing DGCA examinations, the candidate will apply for a Canadian Student Visa. After arrival in Canada at our partner Flight Training Provider (FTP) center, a student will undergo a short Transport Canada pilot medical (if you have not obtained one before arrival)
  • The total duration of flight training is approximately 10-12 months if the student is available throughout the training period. Maintaining good attendance throughout the training period is necessary for the timely completion of the course. Generally, the students are not allowed more than 15 days of leave during the flight training phase.
  • Students will progress from zero experience level to Commercial Pilot licenses with single-engine (SE-IR) and Multi-Engine (ME-IR) Instrument Rating endorsements issued by Transport Canada. All licenses will have Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings. All stages of flight training are conducted in Canada maintaining the same high standards exclusive to HATS by an accredited flight academy. At present the training is conducted by Toronto Airways Canadian Flight Academy.
  • After completion of this training phase, the student will become a fully certified Commercial Pilot holding a Transport Canada (ICAO) license, rated to operate single-engine and multi-engine aircraft, both in visual (VMC) and instrument meteorological (IMC) conditions.
  • It takes approximately 200 flight hours to complete this stage.
  • After the completion of the flight training phase, all students will be offered an opportunity to apply for an internship as flight instructors, which, in turn, will allow them to build additional flight time.
  •  Students are required to convert the Canadian CPL to DGCA CPL. Candidates can do so at any given point after acquiring the Canadian CPL.
STAGE 4 - FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR RATING
  • Students who completed Stage 3 with the required standard of airmanship, safety, and English proficiency, will then proceed to obtain his/her Transport Canada Class IV Certified Flight Instructor rating. The Class IV Instructor Rating certifies the holder of a Commercial Pilot Licence or ATPL to conduct flight training under the supervision of a Class I or II Flight Instructor working within a Flight Training Unit.
  • This rating is necessary to facilitate the internship phase of our program, which would allow the student to work as a flight instructor and build valuable flight time, as well as get paid for this work.
  • It takes approximately 30 flight hours to complete this stage.
  • After the completion of the flight training phase, all students will be offered an opportunity to apply for an internship as flight instructors, which, in turn, will allow them to build additional flight time.
STAGE 5 - FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR INTERNSHIP
  • As a fully qualified Transport Canada (ICAO) Flight Instructor, the student will be offered an opportunity to apply for an internship as a flight instructor with one of our Canadian FTPs, under the terms of the Canadian Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP).
  • Our flight centers in Canada are registered DLIs (Designated Learning Institutions). This means that the students who graduate from this program are eligible to apply for the PGWP. The PGWP allows pilots who have graduated from an eligible Canadian designated learning institution (DLI) to obtain an open work permit (can work anywhere in Canada) to gain valuable professional aviation experience.
  • Students will be offered priority hiring with our FTPs in Canada for the flight instructor position to build valuable flight time for the duration of up to 12 months. Alternatively, or in case our FTP is full and can not hire any more instructors, Aerocadet will provide internship employment assistance with another flight school or air charter company in Canada.
  • PGWP does not limit students to any one particular flight school or charter company in Canada, so graduates can work at any one of hundreds of aviation companies across the country. The only limitations are that the employment must be full-time (30+ hours per week), as a pilot (field of study), and can not exceed 24-36 months.
  • Pilots can expect to build way over 1500 hours of total flight time during this period - an experience that is required to obtain an unrestricted Canadian ATPL. (Our partner Aerocadet will provide comprehensive administrative support for this stage of the program.)
  • Applicants while awaiting work permit approval are permitted to work full-time (i.e. more than 30 hours a week) under the Canadian provision.
  • In the rare event that a student does not fulfill the required minimum academic performance standards, or violates minimum safety standards, the student will skip stages 4 & 5, and proceed directly to stage 7B.
STAGE 6 - TRANSPORT CANADA ATPL
  • Upon completing 18-24 months and over 1500 hours of flight time under the PGWP, Students can apply for the Canadian Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license. This license is a full, unrestricted ICAO ATPL and can be converted to any other ICAO ATPL.
  • Practical and theoretical ATPL exams do not have any specific training prerequisites, so pilots can take them as soon as they reach personal aeronautical experience of 1500+ hours.
  • The minimum requirements for this license are:

        - Total flying                        - 1500 Hours, including.

        - Pilot-in-command (PIC)  - 250 Hours.

        - PIC Cross Country           - 150 Hours.

        - Night Flying                     - 100 Hours.

        - Night Cross Country PIC - 25 Hours.

        - Instrument Flying             - 75 Hours.

        - successful completion of a 2 Part      Written Exam.

  • No practical exam (check-rides) is required for the issue of TC ATPL.
  • Immediately after receiving the TC ATPL the student can plan a three-week trip to India and convert the TC ATPL to DGCA ATPL as elaborated in Stage 8.
STAGE 7A - AIRLINE PILOT INTERNSHIP
  • Under the Canadian Experience Class immigration program, Qualified pilots will be allowed to obtain employment permits in Canada and apply for employment as First Officers in regional Canadian Airlines, like Jazz and Westjet.
  • CEC candidates become eligible for an unrestricted work permit, including airline employment, after they have built up at least one year of Canadian work experience as full-time employees (30 hours per month as flight instructor, as per PGWPP).
  • As the required documentation is minimal, Canadian Experience Class applications are processed quickly, often within six months.
  •  The Canadian Experience Class point-based system is discussed in detail on our blog here
STAGE 7B - INTERNATIONAL FERRY PILOT INTERNSHIP
  • This is a back-up option.
  • In the unlikely event that a student is unable to obtain Canada's permanent residency permit, our partner in the Caribbean, Global Air BVI Inc, will offer him/her employment as an international ferry pilot.
  • This position requires pilot to work on a charter pilot basis, performing 1-2 aircraft repositioning flights per month from various destinations around the world to North America and Europe using the D-type crew visa.
  • The company will provide all the necessary training and visa support. The student will be able to build over 500 hours of valuable international cross-country flight time on various types of light piston and turbine aircraft with MTOW below 7500kg. (Aerocadet will provide comprehensive administrative support for this stage of the program)
STAGE 8 - DGCA ATPL
  • After completing Stage 3, students have the option of converting their Canadian Commercial Pilot license to an Indian DGCA Commercial Pilot License. The conversion process becomes much easier for students who have already attended Ground Classes with Hercules Aviation Training School (HATS).
  • The student is required to clear DGCA ATPL theoretical exams to convert the TC ATPL to DGCA ATPL.
  • This phase is not required but recommended to ensure that students can apply for airline pilot positions in the domestic employment market.
  • Despite the Indian market being competitive, our graduates will have a huge advantage over the competition, not only because they would have both ICAO Canadian pilot licenses and ICAO Indian pilot licenses, but also because they would be fully airline employment ready, with high total flight time, high jet flight time, and valuable airline environment flying experience, as well as excellent recommendation letters from several companies (Aerocadet, Global Air, HATS and the internship companies).
STAGE 9 - AIRLINE PLACEMENT
  • We aim to provide a program structure that enables the student with such a qualification and experience that the airline placement becomes more or less a byproduct of the training. All the major airlines in the world are facing pilot shortage and are on the lookout for pilots with ATPL.
  • We are confident, that given the growing pilot deficit in the World, and the unique and robust nature of our ATPL program, Students will be able to obtain airline employment within 2-4 months after completion of their internships.
  • Aerocadet and HATS will continue fostering your pilot career by offering comprehensive airline employment support with the leading airlines in India, as well as most Asian and Middle Eastern countries. There is no limit to the assistance program: we will continue our support until the graduates get permanent airline employment. Of course, it is conditional on the graduate's passing the airline employment interview.
ACCOMDATION
  • Accommodation in India - HATS will assist in providing accommodation in India to enrolled students for the period of completing Ground Classes. The cost of accommodation generally varies between INR 10000 to INR 15000 per month depending upon single occupancy or sharing rooms. The student also has a choice of attending the classes online and have access to all the recorded classes for the training duration.
