Once all the requirements are satisfactorily met, the candidate will be provided with the training Agreement for acceptance and allocated a date, to begin with, ground classes.
DGCA GROUND SCHOOL
To ensure that candidates have a varied spectrum of domestic and international airline employment opportunities, they are required to appear and clear DGCA (ICAO India) theoretical CPL exams before proceeding for flight training. Classes will be conducted by Hercules Aviation Training School (HATS). The same classes will suffice for appearing for DGCA ATPL exams. However, additional assistance will be provided to enrolled candidates, after completion of flying training in Canada.
CPL TRAINING
Upon clearing DGCA examinations, the candidate will receive a South African Student Visa. The total duration of the Commercial Pilot License flight training is approximately 10 – 12 months. The training is conducted by an accredited flight academy maintaining the high-quality standards exclusive to HATS.
CFI TRAINING
The Commercial Pilot license holders are now trained to learn the art of instructing ab-initio pilots. The duration of CFI training is 8 weeks and consists of both Ground Training and Flying Training. At the successful completion of the course, the candidate is rated as a CERTIFIED FLYING INSTRUCTOR. In some countries, the same/ equivalent rating is Pilot Instructor.
5A. FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR INTERNSHIP
As a fully qualified South African Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO) Flight Instructor, the student will be offered the opportunity to apply for an internship as a Flight Instructor with a South African FTP. The internship will be limited to 18 months. As a Flight Instructor, students can gain approximately 1500 hours of flight time, which is mandatory to be eligible for ATPL.
After graduating from the flight training program, pilots will be able to apply for the Flight Instructor employment with the Flight Academy.

DGCA License Conversion
Upon reaching this stage, students have the option of converting their South African license to an Indian flying license. The conversion process becomes much easier for students who have already attended Ground Classes with Hercules Aviation Training School (HATS). The student is required to clear DGCA ATPL theoretical exams and complete the flying check rides in India in order to convert the SACAA ATPL to DGCA ATPL.
INTERNATIONAL FERRY PILOT INTERNSHIP.
In the unlikely event that a student after getting an ATPL from SACAA and DGCA fails to obtain employment with an Airline in South Africa and India, employment is offered with our Honk Kong partner Global Air Holdings as an international ferry pilot. As a charter pilot, the position requires repositioning 1-2 aircraft flights per month from various destinations around the world to the United States using the D-type crew visa. The company will provide all the necessary training and visa support. Applicants will be able to build over 500 hours of valuable international cross-country flight time on various types of light piston and turbine aircraft with MTOW below 7500kg.
AIRLINE PLACEMENT
