Full Professional Airline Pilot (FPAP-IND-SA)

In continuation with our efforts to provide Job assured Pilot training programs to Indian students Hercules Aviation Training School (HATS) brings out the second Integrated ATPL program in the list of its courses.

HATS is the first institute in India to develop Cadet Pilot Programs with Integrated ATPL. The program provides an opportunity to not only achieve dual Commercial Pilot License (CPL) but also Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) from South Africa Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The total duration of the ground training, flight training and the initial flight instructor internship is approximately 2.5 years during which the student gets to build 1500 hours of flight time.

After achieving 1500 hours of total flight time, students will be able to obtain their South African (ICAO-South Africa) ATPL and apply for either airline pilot or ferry pilot internships. At the last stage, graduates will be provided worldwide permanent airline employment placement assistance service by our company.

No separate preparation is required for the exam. Candidates will receive instructions over email within 48 hours of enrolling for the entrance examination.

FPAP-IND-SA Entrance Exam Registration

1B. Once candidates successfully qualify for the stage 1A, they will be interviewed either via Video call or at one of our centers at Mumbai, Hyderabad or Delhi.

1C. After the interview recommended candidates will be required to complete the enrollment application and provide necessary documents for initial consideration. Once all the requirements are satisfactorily met, the candidate will be provided with the training Agreement for acceptance and allocated a date, to begin with, ground classes.

To ensure that candidates have a varied spectrum of domestic and international airline employment opportunities, they are required to appear and clear DGCA (ICAO India) theoretical CPL exams before proceeding for flight training. Classes will be conducted by Hercules Aviation Training School (HATS). The same classes will suffice for appearing for DGCA ATPL exams. However, additional assistance will be provided to enrolled candidates, after completion of flying training in Canada.

Upon clearing DGCA examinations, the candidate will receive a South African Student Visa. The total duration of the Commercial Pilot License flight training is approximately 10 – 12 months. The training is conducted by an accredited flight academy maintaining the high-quality standards exclusive to HATS.

The Commercial Pilot license holders are now trained to learn the art of instructing ab-initio pilots. The duration of CFI training is 8 weeks and consists of both Ground Training and Flying Training. At the successful completion of the course, the candidate is rated as a CERTIFIED FLYING INSTRUCTOR. In some countries, the same/ equivalent rating is Pilot Instructor.

As a fully qualified South African Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO) Flight Instructor, the student will be offered the opportunity to apply for an internship as a Flight Instructor with a South African FTP. The internship will be limited to 18 months. As a Flight Instructor, students can gain approximately 1500 hours of flight time, which is mandatory to be eligible for ATPL.

After graduating from the flight training program, pilots will be able to apply for the Flight Instructor employment with the Flight Academy.

5B. ATPL Exams – SACAA

HATS will provide students with the necessary opportunity to fulfill the criteria for obtaining a full South African (ICAO) ATPL. Following are the criteria:

• 1500 total Flight Hours, including 250 PIC, 100 PIC Cross Country, 100 Night, and 25 Night Cross Country PIC, and 75 Hours of Instrument Flying.
• Successful clearance of a 2 Part Written Exam.

No separate practical exam (check-rides) required for the issue of SACAA ATPL.

DGCA License Conversion

Upon reaching this stage, students have the option of converting their South African license to an Indian flying license. The conversion process becomes much easier for students who have already attended Ground Classes with Hercules Aviation Training School (HATS). The student is required to clear DGCA ATPL theoretical exams and complete the flying check rides in India in order to convert the SACAA ATPL to DGCA ATPL.

In the unlikely event that a student after getting an ATPL from SACAA and DGCA fails to obtain employment with an Airline in South Africa and India, employment is offered with our Honk Kong partner Global Air Holdings as an international ferry pilot. As a charter pilot, the position requires repositioning 1-2 aircraft flights per month from various destinations around the world to the United States using the D-type crew visa. The company will provide all the necessary training and visa support. Applicants will be able to build over 500 hours of valuable international cross-country flight time on various types of light piston and turbine aircraft with MTOW below 7500kg.

This opportunity is offered to graduates of the FPAP-IND program who have completed at least 2 years of employment with a regional airline flying either CRJ-200 or Q-400 aircraft as first officers (refer to 6A). At this point, Aerocadet will continue fostering your pilot career by offering comprehensive airline employment support with the leading airlines in most Asian and Middle Eastern countries. HATS will support graduates with placement opportunities exclusively in India. HATS will commence with their placement support immediately and only after conversion to DGCA ATPL.

Note: This, of course, is conditional upon the graduate’s passing the airline employment interview.
